Weight is a medical condition, and it responds to medical treatment. What that actually means is a clinician who reviews your history and bloodwork, prescribes appropriately, monitors how you respond, and adjusts from there.
It does not mean a subscription that mails you a pen and never speaks to you again. At InjectCo MedSpa Plano, on W Parker Road just east of the Dallas North Tollway, your plan is physician-supervised and nurse-led from the first assessment onward.

Jen Adams, BSN, RN, leads the Plano team and sees weight loss patients herself. She has been a nurse for more than 13 years, holds an Aesthetic Medical Certification in Botulinum Toxin and Dermal Fillers, is cadaver-certified, and trains other InjectCo injectors every week. Medical weight loss in Plano uses one of two weekly injections when medication is appropriate. Semaglutide works on the GLP-1 pathway, which helps regulate appetite, slows how fast the stomach empties and supports the body's insulin response.
Tirzepatide works on both the GIP and GLP-1 pathways. For many people the practical effect is quieter hunger and feeling full on smaller meals.
Some patients are prescribed a commercially manufactured, FDA-approved medication; others are prescribed a compounded version when that is appropriate and available. Jen or the physician will tell you which one you are getting and where it comes from. Both are possible. The questionnaire and consultation can be done from home, and your nurse will tell you if your bloodwork or a follow-up should happen at the West Plano clinic. Most check-ins after that are remote.

Your BMI and health history decide that, not your goal weight. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN2, and some gastrointestinal conditions rule the program out. Your assessment and bloodwork confirm the rest.
Nausea is the most common, mostly in the early weeks, and some people have vomiting, diarrhea, constipation or stomach pain. Pancreatitis and gallbladder disease are less common but serious. Doses are raised slowly partly to keep side effects manageable.
Nobody can promise a number, and a typical figure would mislead more than it helps. Your dose, how your body responds and your health history all shape it. Your nurse will talk through realistic expectations at your consultation.
Plan for this at the start. Weight often comes back after this kind of medication is stopped, because the factors it was managing are still there. Your clinician can help you taper, move to maintenance or try another approach.

Prescription weight loss medication is available only after a medical evaluation and physician approval. Compounded medications are prepared by a licensed 503B outsourcing facility and are not FDA-approved products. They are not the same as commercially manufactured branded medications. The FDA does not review them individually for safety or effectiveness the way it reviews a branded product.
