What We Look at Before We Recommend a Treatment

Misty, MSN, RN, InjectCo The Woodlands nurse injectorLindsey, MSN, APRN, CPNP-AC, InjectCo The Woodlands nurse injector
Clinical insight from Misty, MSN, RN, and Lindsey, MSN, APRN, CPNP-AC, InjectCo The Woodlands.
Most patients come in knowing what they would like to change, but they do not always know which treatment is responsible for creating that change.
Someone may ask for Botox because they notice a forehead line. Someone else may ask for filler because a fold looks deeper or one part of the face feels less balanced.
We start by listening to the goal and then assessing what is actually creating the concern.
Neurotoxin treatments

How the face moves

For neurotoxin treatments, we watch how the face moves before we decide where treatment belongs. We look at the forehead, brows, frown muscles and eye area together rather than treating a line in isolation.
Filler

Proportion, volume and support

For filler, we look at proportion, volume loss, symmetry and structural support. Sometimes the place the patient points to is not the first place we would treat.
Conservative first
We would rather build conservatively and reassess than use more product than the anatomy needs. And sometimes our recommendation is to wait or not treat at all.
The goal
The goal is not to use the most units or syringes. It is to understand the anatomy, the patient's medical history and the result they actually want, then explain the treatment plan before anything is placed.

When We May Recommend Waiting or Not Treating

Booking an appointment does not guarantee that a procedure will be performed that day. Depending on the treatment, your nurse may recommend postponing or declining treatment because of factors such as:
Active infection or inflammation
Pregnancy or breastfeeding where relevant
Medications or medical history concerns
A previous reaction to a product
Recent procedures that may affect treatment safety
Anatomy that makes the requested treatment inappropriate
Expectations that the treatment cannot realistically achieve
The exact contraindications differ between neurotoxins, fillers, laser treatment, skin procedures and prescription medical programs. Your clinician reviews the risks that apply to your specific treatment before you consent.
InjectCo MedSpa The Woodlands
WHY INJECTCO

What makes InjectCo different from other med spas in The Woodlands?

Trust here starts with credentials, not with promises.

Nurse assessment first

A registered nurse looks at how your face moves before anything is drawn up. You get a unit count and a price before you decide. If we think a treatment is wrong for you, we say so.

Natural, conservative dosing

We would rather add a few units at your two-week check than over-treat on day one. Some first-time forehead or frown-line plans here fall in the 10 to 30 unit range, but exact dosing varies with the product, the muscles being treated, anatomy, muscle strength and your goals.

Medical weight loss in The Woodlands

Laser and skin treatments in The Woodlands

InjectCo medical team providing men's aesthetic treatments in Texas

A medical spa in The Woodlands with a nurse-led standard

InjectCo The Woodlands is part of a nine-clinic Texas group, and every clinic runs the same way. A registered nurse assesses you, tells you what you need and what you do not, and does the injecting herself. Pricing is published. Follow-up is included. You are never rushed out of the chair to make room for the next appointment.

Medical director: Dr. Josh Allen, D.O. Treatments at this location are performed by registered nurses under the medical director's standing orders and protocols, with physician supervision as required by Texas law. The name and title of the nurse performing your treatment are given to you before it begins.

Frequently asked

Questions about our medspa in The Woodlands

InjectCo MedSpa The Woodlands is at 250 Ed English Dr, Suite 3D, Shenandoah, TX 77380, on the south edge of The Woodlands. We are on Ed English Drive just off I-45 South, in the Portofino center, with free parking at the door. Memorial Hermann The Woodlands and Houston Methodist The Woodlands are both about five minutes away, The Woodlands Mall about seven and Market Street about eight. Get directions.

Yes. The Woodlands clinic is open seven days a week, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, including Saturday and Sunday. Text or call (281) 326-9985, or book online and pick the time that suits you.

Two nurses, Misty, MSN, RN and Lindsey, MSN, APRN, CPNP-AC, do the injecting at this clinic. A nurse assesses your face and agrees a plan with you before anything is injected, and the same nurse performs the treatment. Dr. Josh Allen, D.O., is the medical director for the group.

A day spa offers relaxation services such as massage and facials that anyone can perform. A medical spa, also written med spa or medspa, offers prescription treatments. Those include wrinkle relaxers, dermal fillers, laser, and medical weight loss. In Texas they must be performed by or delegated to licensed clinicians under a physician's supervision. At InjectCo The Woodlands that clinician is a registered nurse.

Botox is $12 per unit. Some first-time forehead or frown-line plans here fall in the 10 to 30 unit range, so roughly $120 to $360, but exact dosing varies with the product, the muscles being treated, anatomy and your goals. Lip filler is $399 for a half syringe and $699 for a full syringe. Dermal fillers start at $699 per syringe.

Your nurse assesses this at your consultation and reviews your treatment plan and expected price with you before treatment. You can also try our treatment cost calculator.

Yes. Oak Ridge North is about nine minutes from the clinic, Conroe about thirteen, and Spring about eighteen, all on I-45. We also treat patients from Shenandoah, Magnolia, Tomball, Willis, Porter, New Caney, and Humble. See our pages for med spa services in Conroe, med spa treatments in New Caney and med spa treatments in Humble.

Yes. The Woodlands medical weight loss program uses prescription GLP-1 medications (semaglutide or tirzepatide) with a nurse screening, labs and physician oversight. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and results depend on the individual. However, not everyone is a candidate; a body mass index (BMI) threshold and your health history decide eligibility. Your nurse will assess this at your screening and tell you whether the program is right for you.

Ask four things. Who performs the injection, and what is their license? Who is the supervising physician? Are prices published before you book?

Do you get an assessment before treatment, with the option to say no? A reputable clinic answers all four without hesitation. At InjectCo The Woodlands the answers are a registered nurse, Dr. Josh Allen, D.O., yes, and yes.

Common, short-lived effects after injectables are bruising, swelling, tenderness, and small bumps at the injection site. These usually clear within a few days to two weeks. Wrinkle relaxers can occasionally cause a heavy brow or a temporary eyelid droop that resolves as the product wears off. In the FDA labeling for BOTOX Cosmetic, eyelid ptosis was reported in 3 percent of patients treated for frown lines and brow ptosis in 2 percent of patients treated for forehead lines. Fillers carry a rare but serious chance of vascular occlusion, which is covered in the risk section above.

We do not treat during pregnancy or breastfeeding. We also do not treat over an active skin infection or cold sore at the site, or where there is a known allergy to the product. We ask about blood thinners and neuromuscular conditions at every assessment. Results vary from person to person.

InjectCo MedSpa The Woodlands
TAKE THE FIRST STEP

Imagine looking in the mirror on Monday morning and thinking you look like yourself again.

Rested. Not frozen, not obvious. Nobody asks what you had done, they just say you look well. That is the standard the Woodlands nurses work to, and it starts with an assessment where you get a plan and a price before you commit to anything.

Book online in under two minutes, or text (281) 326-9985 and a nurse will answer. Open seven days, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, at 250 Ed English Dr, Suite 3D, Shenandoah.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

What Risks Should You Understand Before Med Spa Treatment?

Different medical aesthetic procedures carry different risks. Botox, dermal filler, laser treatment and prescription medical programs should not be described as though they have the same safety profile.

Neurotoxins

Common temporary effects may include injection site discomfort, bruising, swelling, headache, temporary asymmetry and temporary weakness in nearby muscles. Product specific contraindications and warnings are reviewed before treatment.

Botulinum toxin products have product specific formulations and dosing units, and units are not directly interchangeable between products. Your nurse may weigh anatomy, muscle activity, the treatment area, your response to previous products and your goals. See the FDA labeling for BOTOX Cosmetic for product specific information.

Dermal fillers

Common temporary effects can include bruising, swelling, redness and tenderness.

A rare but serious complication of dermal filler is unintended injection into a blood vessel. This may interrupt blood supply and can cause tissue damage. Rare reported complications include vision abnormalities, blindness and stroke. The FDA publishes current safety information on dermal fillers and soft tissue fillers.

InjectCo keeps hyaluronidase available for clinically appropriate management of hyaluronic acid filler. Hyaluronidase does not dissolve products that are not hyaluronic acid, such as Radiesse or Sculptra.

Laser and skin treatments

Laser and energy based treatments can cause redness, irritation, burns and changes in skin pigment. Skin assessment and treatment settings matter, particularly in deeper skin tones. Our laser treatments in The Woodlands page covers this in more detail.

Medical weight management

Prescription weight management is a medical program with screening, labs and physician oversight. Eligibility, risks and monitoring are reviewed individually. Our medical weight loss in The Woodlands page covers the program.

What Happens If You Have a Concern After Treatment?

Patients receive treatment specific aftercare instructions and guidance on when to contact the clinic. If you experience an unexpected or worsening reaction, contact InjectCo so the clinical team can decide what evaluation is appropriate.
After filler, symptoms such as increasing or unusual pain, unexpected skin color changes or visual symptoms need prompt assessment and may require emergency medical care. Different treatments have different warning signs, which your clinician reviews before you leave.
HOW OVERSIGHT AND LICENSING WORK

What Does Physician Oversight Mean at InjectCo?

Texas treats cosmetic injection of medications or substances as a medical act. Under the applicable rules, qualified clinicians may perform delegated nonsurgical cosmetic procedures within defined training, written protocol, patient evaluation and physician oversight requirements.
Medical Director
Dr. Josh Allen, D.O.
At InjectCo The Woodlands, nurse clinicians perform aesthetic procedures within InjectCo's physician directed clinical protocols. Dr. Josh Allen, D.O. is the Medical Director. Physician oversight does not mean a physician is physically present for every treatment.
Before treatment, your clinician reviews relevant medical history, medications, allergies, previous aesthetic treatments and treatment specific contraindications, and you receive treatment specific consent information before a medical procedure is performed.

How to verify a nurse license

You can verify a Texas nursing license through Nursys, the national nurse licensure verification service. Physician records are held by the Texas Medical Board.
