Whether you call it lip filler, lip injections or lip enhancement, what that price buys depends on what your lips actually need. That question, more than the syringe, is what this page is about.
When we assess lips, the first question is not whether someone needs a half syringe or a full syringe. We look at what the patient actually wants to change.
Some patients want more visible pink lip without much forward projection. Some want a clearer border. Some want the upper and lower lips to feel more balanced. Others are mostly noticing asymmetry. Those are different treatment goals.
We look at the existing border, Cupid's bow, vertical height, projection, symmetry and how the lips fit the chin and lower face before deciding whether filler belongs there and how much change makes sense.
We also look at previous filler. If the lip is already carrying more product than the tissue handles well, adding another syringe may not be the right answer.
Sometimes the plan is a small amount of filler. Sometimes it is to stage treatment. Sometimes it is to leave the lip alone. The syringe amount should come from the anatomy and the goal, not the other way around.

Lip filler here is planned and injected by one of two Clinical Aesthetic Nurse Injectors: Misty, MSN, RN, or Lindsey, MSN, APRN, CPNP-AC. The same nurse who assesses your lips places the product.

Both nurses work under physician oversight from InjectCo's Medical Director, Dr. Josh Allen, D.O. Dr. Allen trained in osteopathic medicine at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and in emergency medicine through a Texas A&M residency, and he reviews the treatment protocols and patient education used at every InjectCo clinic.
In Texas, cosmetic injection is the practice of medicine. The Texas Medical Board's delegation rules require a physician's written order that covers patient screening, appropriate care and procedures for complications and emergencies, and require the person treating you to be clearly identified with their credentials. Lip filler is an injectable dermal filler used to add or restore volume, shape or definition in the lips. The four lip products we use are hyaluronic acid gels, but the exact formulation matters: each has its own FDA-approved indication, physical properties and labeling.
Filler can change how full a lip looks, how crisp the border is, how much pink lip shows and how evenly the two sides sit. It does not change how the lip moves, which is why a lip flip is a different treatment.

A half syringe can be appropriate when the goal is a small change in shape or volume, while other patients need more. Your starting anatomy, existing filler, symmetry and the change you want matter more than whether this is your first appointment.
A price option is not a dosing plan. Offering a $399 half syringe does not mean a half syringe is right for everyone, and your nurse will tell you if it is not.
When staging makes sense. Sometimes we place a smaller amount, let the lip settle and reassess before deciding whether to add more. That can suit patients who are unsure how much change they want, or whose lips already carry filler.
Staging is a clinical decision made at the assessment, not a default for every first visit.

Terms and rates are set by the financing provider. Your nurse will walk you through your total cost, including any financing fee, before anything is booked.
Swelling and bruising are common during the first several days. The early appearance can change as swelling settles, so we do not recommend judging the result immediately after treatment.
Many patients are reassessed around the two-week point, depending on the treatment plan. Swelling, firmness and tissue response do not finish on the same day for everyone.
Aftercare. For 24 hours, skip hard workouts, straws and smoking. Keep your head slightly raised the first night, and ice in short bursts.
Longevity varies with the exact filler, the amount placed, individual metabolism and the constant movement of the lips. FDA studies and labeling are product-specific, so your nurse discusses the expected range for the exact product selected rather than promising one duration for every filler.
The FDA describes hyaluronic acid as an absorbable material that the body breaks down over time. Each product's FDA approval record, linked in the product section above, reports its own study design and follow-up period.

Lip filler is a medical procedure. Dermal fillers are prescription medical devices, placed at InjectCo by licensed nurses under physician oversight.
Common or temporary effects. Swelling, bruising, tenderness, redness, firmness or small lumps, and discomfort at the treatment site. These usually ease over days to weeks.
Less common. Infection, nodules that need treatment, or asymmetry that needs adjusting. The FDA also lists filler migration as a rare risk.
The most serious risk. The most serious filler complication is accidental injection into a blood vessel. Vascular occlusion can reduce blood supply and may cause tissue injury or necrosis. Rare reported complications include vision impairment, blindness and stroke. The FDA explains these risks on its dermal filler safety page.
The superior and inferior labial arteries run through the lips, which is why lip anatomy is part of every assessment.

Hyaluronic acid filler can be broken down with hyaluronidase, an enzyme, and our Woodlands clinic keeps it on site. That is why the lip products on this page are often described as reversible.
Hyaluronidase is another medical injection, with its own swelling and its own risks. It may be used when clinically appropriate. It is not an instant undo button.
What reversible does not mean. Not every complication can be fully reversed, not every result someone dislikes needs dissolving, and having hyaluronidase available does not make vascular occlusion harmless. It is one tool, used alongside recognizing the warning signs above.

We may recommend waiting if there is active infection or a cold sore, significant swelling from a recent treatment, a medical-history concern, or existing filler that needs to be assessed before adding more.
We may also tell someone no when the requested amount or shape does not fit the tissue safely, or when adding volume is unlikely to create the result they are asking for.

Age. FDA-approved cosmetic dermal filler indications are for adults 22 and older; individual lip-product labels state "over the age of 21." Fillers are not FDA-approved for cosmetic use in minors, and age is confirmed at your assessment.
Labeled contraindications. All four lip product labels list severe allergies with a history of anaphylaxis, and allergy to the gram-positive bacterial proteins the gels contain. The Juvederm and Kysse labels also list lidocaine allergy, and the Restylane Silk label lists bleeding disorders.
Reasons to postpone or review. The FDA states that filler safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding is unknown, so we postpone treatment then. Cold sores, rashes or infection near the lips, blood-thinning medication, a tendency to keloids, or a recent treatment in the same area can also mean waiting or an individual medical review.

Driving in. Northbound on I-45 from Houston or Spring, take exit 79A (TX 242, College Park Drive, Needham Road) and keep to the frontage road until you make a right onto Ed English Drive. Southbound from Conroe, take exit 77 (Research Forest Drive, Tamina Road), U-turn beneath the freeway, and follow the northbound frontage road to a right on Ed English Drive. From the villages west of I-45, Research Forest Drive crosses under the freeway and becomes Tamina Road; turn left on the frontage road, then right on Ed English Drive.
Around the clinic. Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center is 1.5 miles away, one of four hospitals within about 2 miles. College Park, the nearest village of The Woodlands, begins less than a mile north, and lip patients also come from Alden Bridge, Panther Creek, Cochran's Crossing and Grogan's Mill.

By comparing what you want to change with what your lip already has. A lip with good fullness but a soft edge may need definition more than volume, while a thin lip with a clear border may need the opposite. Many plans involve some of both.
Natural usually comes from dose and placement more than from the brand. We match the amount to what your lip can carry, and we can build in stages instead of placing everything in one visit. If you want a subtle change, say so at your assessment. If adding more would start to look overfilled, your nurse will tell you, even if you came in asking for more.
Tell us what was used and when, if you know. We assess how much product the lip is already carrying before adding more, and sometimes the right answer is to wait, add less, or not add filler at all. We also check for migration, which is filler that has moved past the lip border. It often shows as a soft ridge or fullness above the upper lip that stays after swelling is gone. If we see it, we talk through dissolving it with hyaluronidase before adding anything new.
We stock four lip fillers: Restylane Kysse, Restylane Silk, Juvederm Volbella XC and Juvederm Ultra XC. Each is a hyaluronic acid filler with an FDA-approved indication for lip augmentation in adults over the age of 21. Your nurse chooses based on whether you want volume, cleaner definition or softer lip lines, and on how your lips responded to filler before. You will know which product is used before treatment starts.
Skip lip makeup for at least 24 hours, and keep exercise light for the first day or two, since strenuous activity can add swelling and bruising. Kissing presses on fresh injection points, so hold off until the tenderness settles and ask your nurse for a time that fits your treatment. Our lip filler aftercare guide covers the rest.
Swelling and bruising are common for several days, and the early look can change as they settle. Many patients are reassessed around two weeks, depending on the treatment plan.
Most patients come back when they notice the shape softening, not on a fixed calendar. How long a result lasts depends on the product, the amount placed and your own body. We prefer to judge the settled result before adding more, and your nurse will tell you what to expect for the product used.

It means filler has blocked or compressed a blood vessel and reduced blood flow. It is the most serious filler complication and can cause tissue injury, and rarely vision loss, blindness or stroke.
