A surgical Brazilian butt lift moves your own fat. Fat is harvested by liposuction, processed, and grafted into the buttocks under general anesthesia. It can produce a large and lasting change. It also carries the highest mortality rate of any aesthetic surgical procedure, which is why the major plastic surgery societies issued a joint safety warning and formed a task force on gluteal fat grafting. Expect about two weeks off work and weeks of restricted sitting.

One thing you should know before you book. Sculptra is approved by the FDA for facial use, for nasolabial folds and cheek wrinkles. A liquid BBL uses an injectable collagen stimulator instead, with no incision and no fat transfer. Surgery creates a larger and more lasting change. A liquid BBL offers moderate contouring without an operation or a surgical recovery, and it cannot replicate a surgical result.
The fullness you see in the first week is the carrier fluid and it settles within a few days. Month one usually shows little visible change, which is normal. Collagen building becomes visible around month three, and the full result is most apparent at about six months.
Liquid BBL results are not permanent and soften gradually over time. How long they hold depends on which product is used and on your own collagen response, so your nurse will explain how the product in your plan behaves before treatment rather than promising a fixed figure here.
There is little to no downtime and most patients return to normal activity the same day. Avoid strenuous lower body exercise and long periods of sitting for a day or two, expect some tenderness and possible bruising, and follow the massage protocol your nurse gives you.
It depends on your starting shape, how much projection you want, and the product used. Some patients reach their goal in fewer sessions and others are treated in stages. Your nurse recommends a plan after assessing the area rather than quoting a session count in advance.
Most patients describe it as mildly uncomfortable rather than painful. A topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area beforehand, and the product is premixed with lidocaine, a local anesthetic, to reduce discomfort while it is placed.
It depends on the product. Sculptra is a collagen stimulator and cannot be dissolved the way a hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. That is exactly why a staged treatment plan matters more here than with reversible fillers. Your nurse will tell you which product is in your plan and what that means before anything is placed.
