Jen Adams, BSN, RN, leads the InjectCo Plano team. She has more than 13 years of nursing experience. She holds an Aesthetic Medical Certification in Botulinum Toxin and Dermal Fillers, is cadaver-certified, and trains other InjectCo injectors every week.
The physician supervising your care is Dr. Josh Allen, D.O., InjectCo's Medical Director. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his emergency medicine residency with Texas A&M. Every plan is nurse-delivered and physician-supervised. The same clinician follows your care from the first assessment through each dose adjustment.

Some patients are prescribed a commercially manufactured, FDA-approved medication. Others may be prescribed a compounded version when one is appropriate and available. That depends on your BMI and health history, not just your goals. You are generally not a candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The same applies if you have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN2, or certain gastrointestinal conditions. Your assessment and bloodwork confirm whether you are a fit.
Nausea is the most common side effect, especially early on, along with vomiting, diarrhea, constipation and abdominal pain for some patients. Serious but less common risks include pancreatitis and gallbladder disease. Dosing is increased gradually in part to manage these side effects.
This varies enough by person that a typical number would be misleading rather than helpful. Most patients see early changes within the first month. The more significant changes usually happen between months 3 and 6. Your own results depend on your dose, your response and your health history. Your clinician can talk through realistic expectations for your situation.
This is worth planning for before you start, not after. Weight regain is common when this kind of medication is stopped. The hormonal and metabolic factors it was addressing do not disappear on their own.
