Medical Weight Loss in Waxahachie, TX, Supervised by a Physician

Weight is a medical condition, and it responds to medical treatment. What that actually means is a clinician who reviews your history and bloodwork, prescribes appropriately, monitors how you respond, and adjusts from there.

It does not mean a subscription that mails you a pen and never speaks to you again. At InjectCo MedSpa Waxahachie, on Professional Place just off Brown Street, your plan is physician-supervised and nurse-led from the first assessment onward.

THE PROGRAM

What is medical weight loss in Waxahachie, TX?

DIRECT ANSWER
Medical weight loss in Waxahachie, TX is a physician-supervised program combining prescription medication, where appropriate, with ongoing clinical monitoring. It begins with a medical assessment and bloodwork, and continues with regular check-ins to track your response and adjust the plan. It is a course of treatment with a clinician, not a product you buy once.

A physician-supervised program is different from another diet app, supplement plan or subscription service. A licensed clinician reviews your medical history and bloodwork before anything is prescribed, and some patients are better served by a different approach entirely. A clinic willing to tell you that is worth more than one that is not.

For a broader look at how these medications are studied and used, see the NIDDK guidance on prescription medications to treat overweight and obesity.

YOUR CARE TEAM

Care from nurses who train other injectors, not a chain that opened a branch

Jen Adams, BSN, RN and Jill, BSN, RN lead the InjectCo Waxahachie team. Jen has more than 13 years of nursing experience. She holds an Aesthetic Medical Certification in Botulinum Toxin and Dermal Fillers, is cadaver-certified, and trains other InjectCo injectors every week. Jill is a BSN, RN whose background spans aesthetics and pediatric critical care.

The physician supervising your care is Dr. Josh Allen, D.O., InjectCo's Medical Director. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his emergency medicine residency with Texas A&M. He reviews your history and bloodwork and approves your care plan before anything is prescribed. His license can be checked under NPI 1982904033.

Every plan is nurse-delivered and physician-supervised. The same clinician follows your care from the first assessment through each dose adjustment.

GLP-1 & GLP-1/GIP Options

What GLP-1 medications are used in the Waxahachie program?

GLP-1 medications are designed to support weight loss by helping reduce appetite, slowing digestion so you feel full longer, and supporting a healthier insulin response. That is why these medications have become such an important option for patients who have struggled with weight loss on their own.

In the 68-week STEP 1 trial, adults taking semaglutide 2.4 mg lost an average of about 15% of their body weight alongside lifestyle changes, compared with about 2.4% on placebo (Wilding et al., New England Journal of Medicine, 2021). In the 72-week SURMOUNT-1 trial, adults taking tirzepatide 15 mg averaged about 20% weight loss, compared with about 3.1% on placebo (Jastreboff et al., New England Journal of Medicine, 2022).

Those trials studied commercially manufactured medication. Compounded preparations have no trial data of their own, so these figures are not transferable to them, and no result is guaranteed for any individual.

At InjectCo Waxahachie, your plan may include compounded semaglutide or compounded tirzepatide. Which one depends on your health history, your goals, and what your provider decides is appropriate after review.

Some patients are prescribed a commercially manufactured, FDA-approved medication. Others may be prescribed a compounded version when one is appropriate and available. Your clinician will tell you plainly which type you are receiving and where it is sourced from. Compounded preparations are not FDA-approved. See the FDA questions and answers on compounding for more detail.

For patients also interested in aesthetic support during or after weight loss, InjectCo Waxahachie offers a full range of Waxahachie med spa services at the same Professional Place clinic, including Botox in Waxahachie and dermal fillers.
Compounded preparations are not FDA-approved and have no trial data of their own. Efficacy figures from branded trials are not transferable to compounded medication. Results vary and this program may not be suitable for everyone.

*In 68-week and 72-week clinical trials of semaglutide 2.4 mg and tirzepatide 15 mg in patients without diabetes who had a BMI of 30 or higher, or a BMI of 27 or higher with a weight-related condition, average weight loss was 15% and 20% respectively when paired with diet and exercise changes, compared with 2.4% and 3.1% with diet and exercise alone. Those figures come from trials of commercially manufactured products. Compounded preparations are not FDA-approved and have no trial data of their own, so these results are not transferable to compounded medication. WHAT’S INCLUDED

How much does medical weight loss cost in Waxahachie, TX?

For patients comparing medical weight loss options in Waxahachie, the goal is to make the cost clear from the beginning. Many programs separate the consultation, the medication and the follow-ups into charges that are hard to total up in advance. The Waxahachie program runs $425 a month covering all of it, or $1,800 upfront for a 6 to 8 month program.

  • Compounded medication: semaglutide or tirzepatide when prescribed
  • Telehealth consultations with licensed nurse providers
  • Ongoing nurse monitoring and progress check-ins
  • Dose adjustments as your program moves forward
  • Home delivery through a licensed 503B outsourcing facility
  • No hidden fees and no long-term contract
Financing is also available through Cherry and CareCredit for patients who prefer to manage payments over time, both with a soft credit check. Interest-free options may be available for qualifying patients.

Approved patients can begin treatment the same day and pay over time instead of all at once.

How it works: apply online with CareCredit or Cherry in a few minutes, get a decision on the spot, then bring your approval to your appointment. Our team can help you compare options during your consultation and apply on the day if you prefer.

Terms and rates are set by the financing provider. Your nurse will walk you through your total cost, including any financing fee, before anything is booked.

HOW IT WORKS

How does the medical weight loss process work?

Woman holding out the loosened waistband of her jeans
01

Complete the online medical form

You will begin with a short, secure questionnaire about your health history, lifestyle, current weight loss goals, and any details your provider needs to review your eligibility. It usually takes about 10 minutes. The form is HIPAA-compliant, and our privacy policy sets out how your information is handled.
02

Attend your virtual consultation

Next, you will meet virtually with a licensed nurse provider. This is where your information is reviewed, your questions are answered, and your personalized care plan is discussed. There is no drive to the clinic and no waiting room.
03

Receive physician review and care plan approval

After your consultation, a licensed physician reviews your case. They will look at your health profile, approve your care plan if appropriate, and determine whether prescription weight loss medication is the right fit for you.
04

Get your medication delivered

When medication is included in your plan, it ships directly to your door in secure, discreet packaging through a licensed 503B outsourcing facility.
05

Continue with ongoing support and monitoring

Once your program begins, your nurse provider stays involved. They check in on your progress, help monitor how you are responding, and adjust dosing when needed as your plan evolves.
Most patients can complete the full process from home. If you live near the clinic and prefer to come in, in-person appointments are available at the Waxahachie location on Professional Place.

Patients often choose InjectCo Waxahachie because they want clinical care that still feels personal. The medical side matters, of course, but so does feeling heard, and knowing the same clinician is following your progress rather than a different name each visit.

Results may vary. Individual experiences depend on personal factors, lifestyle habits, and program adherence.
That kind of feedback reflects what many patients look for when choosing a Waxahachie weight loss provider: medical oversight, a named clinician, and someone who follows through after the first appointment.

Frequently Asked

Frequently Asked Questions About Medical Weight Loss in Waxahachie, TX

The Waxahachie program is $425 a month, covering your consultation, medication when prescribed, monitoring and follow-up. If you would rather commit upfront, an $1,800 package covers a 6 to 8 month program instead of paying month to month.

Your initial assessment and bloodwork usually happen in person at the Waxahachie clinic on Professional Place. Your clinician may want to see you for certain follow-ups, depending on how your plan develops. Between those visits, most ongoing check-ins can be handled remotely.

Dr. Josh Allen, D.O., is InjectCo's Medical Director and reviews and signs off on treatment plans across all nine Texas locations, including Waxahachie. Jen Adams, BSN, RN, Jill, BSN, RN, and the nurse-led clinical team at this location handle your day-to-day care and follow-up appointments.

That depends on your BMI and health history, not just your goals. You are generally not a candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The same applies if you have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN2, or certain gastrointestinal conditions. Your assessment and bloodwork confirm whether you are a fit.

Nausea is the most common side effect, especially early on, along with vomiting, diarrhea, constipation and abdominal pain for some patients. Serious but less common risks include pancreatitis and gallbladder disease. Dosing is increased gradually in part to manage these side effects.

This varies enough by person that a typical number would be misleading rather than helpful. Most patients see early changes within the first month. The more significant changes usually happen between months 3 and 6. Your own results depend on your dose, your response and your health history. Your clinician can talk through realistic expectations for your situation.

This is worth planning for before you start, not after. Weight regain is common when this kind of medication is stopped. The hormonal and metabolic factors it was addressing do not disappear on their own. Your clinician can talk through tapering, transitioning to maintenance, or another approach when you are ready to stop.

It depends on what is appropriate and currently available for you. Compounded preparations are prepared by a licensed 503B outsourcing facility and are not FDA-approved. Your clinician will tell you plainly which type you are being prescribed and where it is sourced from.

Coverage varies widely by plan and by medication, so it is worth checking with your insurer directly about your specific policy. The Waxahachie clinic can help you understand what you are paying out of pocket regardless of coverage.

Yes. All three are regular sources of patients at this location, along with the rest of Ellis County. Red Oak is about 14 minutes away, Midlothian about 16 and Ennis about 19.

TAKE THE FIRST STEP

Medically supervised weight loss in Waxahachie starts with one screening

Whether you live in Waxahachie or drive in from Midlothian, Red Oak or Ennis, the program starts the same way. First a screening, then bloodwork, then a physician review before anything is prescribed.

Important Safety Information

Prescription weight loss medication is available only after a medical evaluation and physician approval. Compounded medications are prepared by a licensed 503B outsourcing facility and are not FDA-approved products. They are not the same as commercially manufactured branded medications. The FDA does not review them individually for safety or effectiveness the way it reviews a branded product.

This program is not for everyone. It is not appropriate during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It is also not appropriate for anyone with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN2). Tell your provider about all medical conditions and medications.

Common side effects of GLP-1 and GLP-1/GIP medications may include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, and abdominal discomfort. Serious side effects are possible. Contact your provider with any concerns.

If you have a reaction. Call or text the Waxahachie clinic on (469) 813-8917 during opening hours, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, seven days a week, and your nurse provider will advise you. Do not wait for your next check-in. Seek urgent or emergency care immediately if you have severe or persistent abdominal pain, repeated vomiting that stops you keeping fluids down, signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling of the face, lips or throat or difficulty breathing, or any symptom that feels severe. You can also report a side effect directly to the FDA through MedWatch, the agency’s adverse event reporting program.

Results may vary. Clinical trial averages are provided for educational purposes and are not a guarantee of individual results. Weight loss depends on personal factors, lifestyle habits, and program adherence.
