Meet Your Specialists

Meet Your Waxahachie Laser Hair Removal Specialists

Jen Adams, BSN, RN and Jill, BSN, RN are the registered nurses who operate the GentleMax Pro at InjectCo Waxahachie. Jen has more than 13 years in nursing and holds an Aesthetic Medical Certification. She is a cadaver-certified master injector and trains injectors across the network every week. Jill works in aesthetics alongside a background in pediatric critical care.

For laser, the assessment is the part that matters. Your skin type, hair color and coarseness all change the setting. So does recent sun exposure, a history of pigment change, or any medication that raises light sensitivity. Some of those mean we do not treat you that day. Every plan is reviewed under physician oversight by Dr. Josh Allen, D.O., Medical Director.

TREATMENT AREAS

What Can Laser Hair Removal Treat? Common Areas Our Waxahachie Patients Choose

Patients researching laser hair removal want to know their own area can be treated before they book. These are the areas our Waxahachie nurses treat most.
01

Face & Upper Lip

/ fine to medium hair
The upper lip and chin are the most requested facial areas. Small, precise pulses with the GentleMax Pro's Alexandrite wavelength deliver clean results without affecting the surrounding skin.
02

Underarms

/ 15-minute sessions
Underarms respond quickly and typically show visible reduction within two to three sessions. Quick appointments mean patients often schedule around lunch or on the way home from work.
03

Brazilian

/ private treatment suite
One of the most requested full-area treatments. Sessions are performed one-on-one in a private suite, and the coarse hair in this area usually responds well. Ingrown hairs and razor bumps often improve alongside the reduction, which for many patients matters more than the hair itself.
04

Full legs

/ 30 to 45 minutes
Upper legs and lower legs can be treated separately or together. Large spot sizes on the GentleMax Pro mean leg sessions are faster than patients expect, typically 30 to 45 minutes for full legs.
05

Back & Chest

/ men's laser
The most common men's laser areas. Coarse, dark body hair responds particularly well to the 1064nm Nd:YAG wavelength, which penetrates deeper into the follicle for effective reduction on thicker hair.
06

Full Body

/ 8-session package
Full body packages combine multiple areas into one coordinated series. InjectCo Waxahachie offers full body laser hair removal as an eight-session package.

THE TECHNOLOGY

The GentleMax Pro Dual-Wavelength System

GentleMax Pro by Candela

The GentleMax Pro by Candela carries two wavelengths in one device, which is what lets a single system treat the full Fitzpatrick range. Your nurse selects the wavelength after assessing your skin, not before it. Wavelength is only the first setting. Fluence is the energy delivered per pulse. That, the pulse duration and the spot size are all matched to how coarse and dense your hair is, and to how your skin responds. That is the part a trained operator adjusts, and it is why the same device gives different results in different hands.

755nm Alexandrite

Highly absorbed by melanin for fast, effective results on lighter skin types, Fitzpatrick I to III.

1064nm Nd:YAG

Bypasses surface melanin to reach the follicle safely on deeper complexions, Fitzpatrick IV to VI, without the hyperpigmentation risk of single-wavelength systems.

Dynamic Cooling

A cryogen spray fires immediately before each pulse, so most patients find it more comfortable than waxing.

FDA-cleared

Medical-grade equipment operated by a licensed registered nurse under physician oversight.

NURSE-LED & SAFE

Why Waxahachie Patients Choose Nurse-Operated Laser Hair Removal at InjectCo

In Texas, licensed registered nurses and nurse practitioners can perform laser hair removal under the supervision of a delegating physician. That is the framework InjectCo works within. At our Waxahachie location the GentleMax Pro is operated by Jen Adams, BSN, RN and Jill, BSN, RN under physician oversight, in line with Texas Medical Board requirements.

The practical difference shows up in the cases that are not straightforward. Those are deeper skin tones, recent sun exposure, a history of pigment change, hormonal conditions affecting hair growth, and medication that raises light sensitivity. Those need someone who can recognize the risk, adjust the setting, and decline treatment on the day if your skin is not in the right state.

WHAT TO EXPECT

What to Expect at Your InjectCo Waxahachie Laser Appointment

01

Nurse Assessment

Your nurse reviews your skin type, hair color and coarseness, medications and medical history, and does a test patch. You are not treated on this visit. Your plan and session count are set before anything is booked.
02

Prep & Shave

Shave the treatment area 24 to 48 hours before. Do not wax, pluck or thread for four weeks beforehand. Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds and self-tanner for two weeks, and arrive with clean, product-free skin.
03

Treatment & Cooling

Your nurse delivers precise pulses with the handpiece. The Dynamic Cooling Device releases a cryogen spray before each pulse. Sessions run 15 to 60 minutes by area.
04

Aftercare

Return to normal activities immediately. Mild redness fades within 2 to 8 hours. Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours and apply SPF 50 to treated areas for 48 hours.

Treated area is calm within hours; redness fades same day.
10 to 21 days
Treated hairs shed naturally as the follicles release.
Each session

Frequently Asked

Frequently Asked Questions About Laser Hair Removal in Waxahachie, TX

Laser hair removal at InjectCo Waxahachie starts at $150 per session, and underarm and Brazilian are $275 per session. The $150 is the entry point for smaller areas, not a flat rate for every zone. Eight-session packages are available for every treatment area, and a package costs less per session than paying visit by visit. What you pay depends on the size of the area, how coarse and dense your hair is, and how many sessions your skin and hair combination needs. You get the full number in writing at your assessment, before anything is booked.

Most patients need 6 to 8 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart on the face and 6 to 8 weeks on the body. Hair moves through three phases: anagen, the active growth phase, then catagen, a short transition, then telogen, a resting phase before the hair sheds. The laser only disables a follicle during anagen, when the follicle is still attached and full of the pigment the light targets. Your hairs are never all in anagen at once, and the share that is varies by body area. That is why one session cannot finish the job, and why sessions are spaced out. Areas influenced by hormones, such as the chin, upper lip and bikini line, often need 1 or 2 more. Your nurse gives you a specific estimate at your assessment.

The FDA-cleared outcome is permanent hair reduction, not permanent removal. That means a lasting decrease in how many hairs grow back. The hair that does return is usually finer and lighter. Most patients need occasional maintenance sessions afterward. Anyone promising permanent removal is describing something the technology does not do.

Yes, with the correct wavelength. The 755nm Alexandrite works best on Fitzpatrick I to III because it is strongly absorbed by melanin. The 1064nm Nd:YAG treats Fitzpatrick IV to VI safely because it bypasses surface melanin to reach the follicle. Older single-wavelength lasers were unsafe on deeper skin for exactly this reason. Your skin assessment determines which wavelength is used. Very light, red or gray hair responds poorly on any skin tone, because there is little pigment for the laser to target.

Most patients describe it as a hot elastic band snap. The GentleMax Pro fires a burst of cryogen immediately before each pulse, which takes the edge off considerably, and most people find it more comfortable than waxing. Coarser hair and sensitive areas such as the bikini line are less comfortable than legs or arms.

Shave the treatment area 24 to 48 hours before. Do not wax, pluck or thread for four weeks beforehand, because the laser needs the root to still be there. Avoid sun exposure and self-tanner for two weeks. Arrive with clean skin and no lotion, deodorant or makeup on the area. Tell your nurse about any medication you take, because some raise light sensitivity.

Jen Adams, BSN, RN and Jill, BSN, RN operate the GentleMax Pro at InjectCo Waxahachie. Jen has more than 13 years in nursing, is a cadaver-certified master injector, and trains injectors across the network. Every treatment plan is reviewed under physician oversight by Dr. Josh Allen, D.O., Medical Director.

InjectCo MedSpa Waxahachie is at 102 Professional Pl, Suite 101, Waxahachie, TX 75165. Professional Place runs off the west side of Brown Street, signed FM 813, between Indian Drive and Sumner Lane, next door to Buffalo Creek Assisted Living and Memory Care. US-287 is about half a mile east. We are open Monday to Sunday, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Yes. Red Oak is about 14 minutes via I-35E, Midlothian about 16 minutes on US-287, and Ennis about 19 minutes. We also see patients from Ovilla and Pecan Hill, both about 16 minutes, Oak Leaf about 17 minutes, and Palmer about 18 minutes.

Usually not on freshly tanned skin. A new tan carries extra pigment that absorbs laser energy meant for the follicle, which can cause hot spots, irritation or burns. The same applies to self-tanner. Laser is also not suitable directly over tattoos, active infections or open lesions. This is what the skin assessment and test patch are for, and your nurse will reschedule rather than treat skin that is not in the right state.

Important Safety Information

Laser hair removal at InjectCo Waxahachie is performed by a licensed registered nurse using the GentleMax Pro. The FDA term for this treatment is permanent hair reduction. That means a lasting decrease in the number of hairs that regrow, not the removal of every hair forever. Most patients need a series of sessions, and occasional maintenance is normal.

Laser hair removal is not appropriate for everyone. Tell your provider if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take photosensitizing medication, or have a history of keloid scarring, active infection, recent sun exposure, or tanning in the treatment area.

Common temporary effects include redness, mild swelling around the follicle, and a sensation during treatment that many patients compare to a rubber band snap. These usually settle within a few hours. Blistering and changes in skin pigment are uncommon but possible, particularly on recently tanned skin.

Results vary based on hair color, hair thickness, skin tone, and hormonal factors. This page is for general education and is not medical advice. Every treatment begins with a consultation and skin assessment to confirm whether laser hair removal is appropriate for you.

For an independent overview of how laser hair removal works and what the risks are, see the American Academy of Dermatology's laser hair removal FAQs.
