Xeomin softens creases that come from movement. A groove you can still see with your face fully relaxed usually comes from lost volume, and filler handles that better. Plan on about 30 to 45 minutes for a first visit, consultation included. Genniel asks what bothers you, then has you frown, lift your brows and smile so she can see which muscles pull hardest. Units do not convert between brands. The Xeomin label says its units cannot be compared with or converted into units of any other botulinum toxin, so Genniel plans each brand from scratch rather than copying an old Botox count.
Yes. Xeomin is FDA-approved for adults to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines, horizontal forehead lines and crow's feet. The label also covers several medical uses, such as chronic drooling, cervical dystonia, blepharospasm and limb spasticity, which we do not treat.
Uses outside those three cosmetic areas, like a lip flip or a pebbled chin, are off-label. They are common in aesthetic practice, and Genniel names them as off-label before you agree to anything. The most common side effects of Xeomin for upper face lines are small bruises or a pinpoint bump where the needle went, a headache, and, less often, a heavy or drooping brow. Across the label's repeat-dose trials of all three upper face areas, blood under the skin at an injection point led the list (8%), with headache (3%) and brow drooping (1%) behind it.
Every botulinum toxin, Xeomin included, carries a boxed warning: the effect can travel past the treated muscles, sometimes hours and sometimes weeks later. Call for urgent help if swallowing, speaking or breathing gets hard, if you see double, or if a muscle feels newly weak.
