A lip flip in Dallas is a $199 treatment that uses a few units of Botox to relax the muscle along your upper lip, so more of the lip shows when you smile. It adds no filler and no volume. The visit takes about 15 to 20 minutes at our North Carroll Avenue clinic, and most people go straight back to their day.

Think of a lip flip as a muscle tweak, not a filler. Your provider places a small dose of Botox in the orbicularis oris, the circular muscle of the mouth, right along the top of the upper lip. As those fibers soften, the lip turns out a little and more pink stays visible when you smile. Size stays the same.
The dose is small and the mouth never stops moving, so the effect fades faster than it does between the brows. A 2025 systematic review in Archives of Dermatological Research found lip flips typically use 4 to 6 units of botulinum toxin, with mild side effects such as trouble whistling or using a straw that settled within weeks.
We watch you smile. The plan starts with your lip at rest, then in a relaxed smile and a full laugh. That shows whether the top lip curls in, whether gum is the bigger issue, and whether one side pulls harder than the other.
We set the dose to the lip, not a menu. Published lip flip doses sit around 4 to 6 units, and a first treatment often starts conservative. Too much relaxation can make sipping, whistling or some sounds harder for a few weeks, so less is the safer first step.
We tell you when a flip is the wrong tool. If the goal is fuller lips, a flip will not get you there, and we will say so and point you to lip fillers in Dallas instead. Some people choose both, usually a few weeks apart.
We plan around your calendar. Book at least two weeks before a wedding, photos or a trip. This is the usual timeline:
| When | What you notice |
|---|---|
| Day of the visit | Tiny bumps or redness that settle within an hour or so |
| Days 2 to 5 | The first change; straws and whistling can feel odd |
| Around 2 weeks | The clearest result, and the time to judge it |
| About 2 to 3 months | The effect fades; repeat it if you liked the change |

A lip flip is often repeated every few months. When the person who placed your last dose sees you again, she can compare how your lip moved, how long the effect held and whether to adjust by a unit or two.
Every treatment at InjectCo Dallas is provided under the medical direction of Dr. Josh Allen, D.O., Medical Director. He sets the written protocols the Dallas providers follow, and his credentials are listed in the oversight note at the end of this page.

Approved patients can begin treatment the same day and pay over time instead of all at once.
How it works: apply online with CareCredit or Cherry in a few minutes, get a decision on the spot, then bring your approval to your appointment. Our team can help you compare options during your consultation and apply on the day if you prefer.
Terms and rates are set by the financing provider. Your nurse will walk you through your total cost, including any financing fee, before anything is booked.
Many lip flip patients also treat frown lines, forehead lines or crow’s feet while they are in the chair. Those areas are priced per unit, so the total depends on how strong each muscle is.

A lip flip is a few units of Botox placed in the muscle just above the upper lip border. Relaxing that muscle lets the lip roll slightly outward, so more of it shows when you smile. It adds no volume, and it is an off-label use of Botox.
A lip flip at InjectCo Dallas is $199. Botox for other areas is $12 a unit, or $7.77 a unit with the $24.99 monthly membership. Your price is confirmed before anything is injected. See our lip flip cost guide for more detail.
Most people notice it for about 2 to 3 months, and some find it fades sooner. The dose is small and the lip moves all day, so it wears off faster than Botox in the forehead. You see the first change in a few days and the clearest result around two weeks.
Choose a flip if you want more of your upper lip to show without adding size. Choose filler if you want fuller lips; that is a hyaluronic acid gel that adds volume, from $399 for a half syringe. Some people do both. Compare them on our lip fillers in Dallas page.
Most people feel a few quick pinches. The needle is very fine, the injections take a minute or two, and numbing cream is rarely needed. Mild redness or small bumps usually settle within an hour or so.
Published reports put a typical lip flip at about 4 to 6 units, according to a 2025 systematic review. Your provider sets your dose after watching how your lip moves, and a first treatment is often on the conservative side. See our Botox dosage guide for other areas.
It can help when the lip lifts high in a smile. A gummy smile is often treated with a small dose in the muscles that raise the upper lip, which is slightly different from a classic flip. Your provider checks which approach suits your smile at the visit.
Shelby, PA-C, a physician assistant, and Haya Jayne, BSN, RN, a registered nurse, both perform lip flips at InjectCo Dallas, under the medical direction of Dr. Josh Allen, D.O., Medical Director.
Botox is FDA-approved for specific facial lines and neck bands, and using it in the lip is off-label. Common short-term effects are redness, small bumps, a bruise, and some trouble with straws or whistling for a few days. Rare but serious effects are listed in the Important Safety Information below.
Yes. The clinic is at 2520 N Carroll Ave in Old East Dallas, close to Uptown across Central Expressway, and many patients come from Highland Park, University Park, Lakewood and the neighborhoods listed in the drive-time table above. We are open seven days a week, 8 AM to 8 PM.
That is the whole point. Friends notice that your smile looks a little fuller, not that you had something done. Getting there takes a provider who checks your lip in motion, starts with a sensible dose, and tells you plainly when filler or nothing at all would serve you better.

Botox is a prescription medicine. Its FDA label approves BOTOX Cosmetic for four uses: frown lines, crow’s feet, forehead lines and neck bands. The lips are not among them, so a lip flip is an off-label use. Lip flips at InjectCo Dallas are performed by a physician assistant or a registered nurse, under the medical direction of Dr. Josh Allen, D.O., Medical Director. Individual results vary.

Cosmetic injections are a medical act in Texas. A Texas-licensed physician may delegate them to a physician assistant or registered nurse under written protocols and supervision, as described in 22 Texas Administrative Code §169.25.
