TREATMENT AREAS

What a Chemical Peel Treats

Your injector matches your peel depth to your specific goal. If your main concern is stubborn discoloration, your nurse may suggest a short series rather than a single peel.

01

Dark Spots, Sun Damage, and Melasma

/ 15-minute sessions
Exfoliates the skin and removes damaged skin cells.

02

Acne Scars and Uneven Marks

/ 30 to 45 minutes
Unclogs the outer layer of the skin to reveal smoother skin underneath.

03

Clogged or Enlarged Pores

/ 8-session package
Rejuvenates dull, dry skin and makes it look healthier.
THE TECHNOLOGY

Peel Depth and Your Skin Type

Selected at your assessment

Chemical peels are not one treatment. Depth is chosen by your nurse based on your skin type, your history of pigment change and what you are actually trying to correct. Deeper is not automatically better, and on some skin types it carries real risk.

Superficial peels
Work on the outer layer for tone, dullness and mild texture. Little to no downtime, usually done as a series.
Medium-depth peels
Reach further for pigment and sun damage. Expect visible peeling for several days and stricter sun avoidance afterwards.
Skin type matters
Deeper complexions carry a higher risk of post-inflammatory pigment change. Your nurse selects a conservative depth and may patch test first.
Assessed first
Recent sun exposure, isotretinoin use, active infection and a history of keloid scarring all need review before any peel.

What drives the price

What drives the variation: the size of the treatment area, how coarse or dense your hair is, and the total number of units required for your specific skin and hair combination. Every estimate is confirmed during your free 15-minute nurse assessment, with no hidden fees or surprise charges at checkout.

Medical-grade, not budget

Pricing reflects medical-grade medical-grade device technology and licensed nurse-specialist care. This is not a budget laser service. It is precise, clinical work designed to deliver real permanent reduction.

NURSE-LED & SAFE

Why Nurse-Led Matters Here

In Texas, chemical peels are performed by appropriately trained personnel under physician delegation, and the standard varies considerably between clinics. At InjectCo MedSpa Austin, peels are performed by a licensed registered nurse under physician supervision, within Texas Medical Board requirements.

The difference shows up in the cases that are not straightforward: deeper skin tones, recent sun exposure, a history of pigment change, active acne, or isotretinoin use. Those need someone who can recognise the risk, pick a conservative depth, and be willing to decline treatment on the day if your skin is not in the right state.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Aftercare is simple

01

Consultation and Skin Assessment

Your visit starts with a short skin check and a plan.

02

Preparation

Your nurse cleans the skin, applies the peel, and watches how your skin responds the whole time.

03

Treatment

The peel itself is quick, often 20 to 30 minutes, and most people feel warmth or light tingling that fades fast.

04

Results

Full results build as the skin finishes turning over, and a series gives the strongest change.

Your Results Timeline

Day 1

Treated area is calm within hours; redness fades same day.

10 to 21 days

Treated hairs shed naturally as the follicles release.

Each session

Progressively finer, lighter regrowth between visits.

Over a course

Results build across a series rather than a single session.

Simple aftercare

Apply SPF 50 to treated areas for 48 hours, skip the gym for a day, and do not wax or use depilatory creams between sessions. Shaving between visits is fine.

Frequently Asked

Frequently Asked Questions About Chemical Peels in Austin

Your price depends on the peel depth and how many areas you treat, so we set the exact number at your consultation. In Austin, professional peels commonly run from about confirmed at consultation to $300 for a single session, with lower per-peel pricing when you buy a series. Your nurse recommends only the depth your skin needs so you are not paying for more than that.

Pay for the right peel, not the cheapest one. A light peel costs less than a medium peel because it uses gentler acids and has no real downtime. A medium peel does more for scars and deep discoloration, so it costs more. The best value is a nurse choosing the correct depth for your skin and your goal, which is what happens at your consultation.

Most providers ask you to wait about six months after you finish Accutane (isotretinoin) before a chemical peel. The medicine makes skin more fragile and slower to heal, which raises the risk of scarring. Your nurse reviews your history first and will not treat until it is safe to do so.

They can. A light peel with salicylic or lactic acid can smooth the rough, bumpy skin of keratosis pilaris on the arms and legs and help clear the clogged follicles behind it. KP tends to come back over time, so most people keep it in check with a peel series plus a good at-home routine your nurse suggests.

Not much. A light peel usually feels like tingling or mild warmth for a few minutes while it is on. A medium peel feels stronger and can sting briefly, but it is short, and your nurse stays with you the whole time. Any real discomfort settles quickly once the peel is neutralized or removed.

It depends on the depth. A light peel has little to no downtime, with maybe some light flaking for a few days. A medium peel brings about three to seven days of visible peeling, redness, and dryness while new skin comes in. You will get simple aftercare steps and will need daily sunscreen while your skin heals.

Yes, when the peel is chosen with care. Deeper skin tones can be more prone to dark marks (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation), so our nurses lean toward lighter, well-controlled peels and the right prep for your skin. This is exactly why a nurse-led, medical-grade peel is safer for darker skin than a one-size peel at a walk-in spa.

Peels are strongest for uneven tone, dull texture, clogged pores, active acne, acne scars, sun spots, melasma, and early fine lines. If your main concern is deep wrinkles or loose skin, your nurse may point you toward microneedling or another option instead, so you spend your money where it actually helps.

For a fresh glow before an event, one peel is often enough. For tone, texture, acne, or scarring, most patients do a series of three peels spaced a few weeks apart, then come back for upkeep as needed. Your nurse gives you a clear plan at your consultation so you know what to expect.
