Most men who ask us about the P-Shot have already read plenty online. What they want next is simple: a clear price, a nurse they can name and a clinic that keeps the visit low-key. This is how our East 6th Street clinic handles each of those.

• The price is printed. $1,799 a session, shown on this page and repeated before your blood draw.
• One nurse, not a rotating cast. Genniel Koger, RN, runs your consultation, prepares the PRP and gives the injection herself.
• Medical Director oversight. Our protocols are set under Dr. Josh Allen, D.O., Medical Director for InjectCo's Texas clinics.
• A booking form that never asks why. You pick a time online, and the reason for your visit stays between you and your nurse.
• Open seven days, 8 AM to 8 PM. Early mornings, evenings and weekends are all on the calendar.
• Straight triage. If something in your history calls for a physician or urologist first, Genniel tells you before you spend a dollar.

Platelets release growth factors where they settle. Supporters of the P-Shot believe those signals may help small blood vessels and nerves in penile tissue recover. Only a handful of placebo-controlled trials have tested the idea, and their findings conflict. So we present the P-Shot as a choice to weigh carefully, not a fix. In Austin it costs $1,799 a session, and the nurse who answers your questions is the nurse who treats you.

Find the row that sounds like you. The P-Shot targets erection quality and sensation, and that is all. Weaker erections sometimes show up before heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure or low testosterone has been found. For that reason the AUA guideline on ED tells clinicians to check for those conditions early.

If a medical row and a P-Shot row both apply, deal with the medical one first. If the P-Shot is a fit, Genniel explains the $1,799 cost, the realistic upside and the limits before you book a treatment date.

A good candidate is an adult man in fair general health with mild to moderate changes in erections or feeling. He has had the usual medical causes checked, or plans to. He is also comfortable with a treatment whose evidence is still young. The P-Shot sits next to your doctor's care, never in place of it.

When we ask you to hold off

• An active infection, sore or rash in the genital area.
• A known bleeding or platelet disorder, or certain blood cancers.
• Anticoagulant or antiplatelet medicine, unless your prescriber has agreed to a plan.
• ED that no physician has examined yet, above all with diabetes, high blood pressure or heart disease.
• Your main hope is extra length or girth.

Bring to your consult

Bring your medicine and supplement list, since ED pills, nitrates and blood thinners matter most. Add recent labs if you have them, and a note of what you have tried so far.

No result is promised. Some men describe firmer, more reliable erections or better feeling that builds over weeks. Others see no difference, and no test can tell you in advance which response you will have.

Size stays the same. Controlled research has not shown PRP adding length or girth, so we never offer it for that. It also will not straighten a Peyronie's curve, lift testosterone or treat diabetes, artery disease or other causes behind ED.

Keep your prescriptions. ED tablets are FDA-approved for erectile dysfunction and PRP is not. Do not stop anything your doctor prescribed without talking to that doctor.

Plan on it being temporary. Trials have tracked men for months rather than years, so treat any improvement as something that may fade.

Some symptoms need a physician's workup before any elective treatment. Book with your own doctor or a urologist first if:

• Your erections stopped abruptly, or the change arrived with chest pain or breathlessness. Chest pain means calling 911.
• You have new ED plus diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or a smoking habit. Erection trouble can appear before other signs of narrowed arteries.
• You notice a new curve, a hard lump or pain with erections, which may point to Peyronie's disease.
• An erection lasts past four hours. That is priapism and needs an emergency room right away.
• Desire is low, you feel worn out or morning erections have stopped. A hormone and general health check makes sense.
• You see blood in urine or semen, struggle to urinate, or have sores or a recent injury.

A doctor's visit first does not close the door on the P-Shot later. Genniel will simply ask that your health comes first, and she will tell you that at your consult.

The P-Shot and shockwave both aim at erections, while girth filler changes thickness only. Plenty of men start with one and ask about another later; the comparison and girth cards under Related Men's Treatments go deeper. Whichever route you take, tell every clinician about each treatment and medicine you use.

Research on PRP for erectile function is young, and the results conflict. The two most cited placebo-controlled trials were small, enrolled men with mild to moderate ED and gave two injection sessions about a month apart.

• Greece, 2021. Poulios et al. in the Journal of Sexual Medicine randomized 60 men. At six months a larger share of the PRP group reached a meaningful improvement than the placebo group, and no adverse events were reported.
• United States, 2023. Masterson et al. in the Journal of Urology randomized 61 men. One month after treatment both groups had improved by a similar margin, and the authors judged PRP safe but no better than placebo.
• Professional guidance. The AUA calls PRP for ED experimental, and the European Association of Urology advises using it only within clinical trials.

Studies also prepare and dose PRP in different ways, and none has years of follow-up. Average results in volunteers cannot tell you what will happen in your case. Our P-Shot service page explains how InjectCo approaches the treatment across Texas.

No. The FDA has not approved platelet-rich plasma for erectile dysfunction or for sexual function, which makes the P-Shot an off-label use. PRP preparation systems are cleared as devices through the FDA 510(k) process; that clearance does not cover injecting plasma into the penis.

The plasma comes from you, so an allergy is unlikely. Any clinic should still be able to name the PRP system it uses and how much plasma goes in.

The first few days are about recovery, not results: mild tenderness or swelling is expected. Trial check-ins happened at one, three and six months after treatment. When men do notice a difference, they tend to describe it as gradual, arriving over several weeks to a few months. Some notice nothing at all.

How long any change lasts has not been established, so we do not quote a duration. Your aftercare sheet explains when to resume sex and exercise, how to handle soreness and which symptoms mean you should call. Many men stop after one session, give it time and then decide with Genniel whether another would help. A second session is never assumed.

Serious reactions are uncommon because PRP is made from your own blood. The 2021 trial reported no adverse events, and the 2023 trial found PRP safe. Expect some of these for a short time:

• tenderness or aching for a day or two
• bruising or light swelling where the needle went in
• a bruise at the blood-draw site on your arm
• altered sensation that settles

Less often, an infection, a small firm nodule or a larger bruise can occur. The most likely downside is financial: paying for a treatment that may not help you.

Contact us the same day if

pain or swelling is getting worse, not better. The same goes for a fever, discharge, spreading redness, a growing lump or blood in your urine. Call or text (512) 737-7360. Go to an emergency room for an erection that lasts over four hours or for sudden, severe pain.

Important information about the P-Shot. The P-Shot is an injection of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), prepared from a sample of the patient's own blood, into the penis. This use of PRP has no FDA approval for erectile dysfunction or sexual function, which makes it off-label, and the American Urological Association considers it experimental. At InjectCo MedSpa Austin the treatment follows a consultation and is given by a registered nurse under physician delegation. It is not intended to increase penis size.

Outcomes differ between patients, any benefit may lessen over time, and no outcome is guaranteed.

Common short-term effects include tenderness, bruising, mild swelling and minor bleeding at injection or blood-draw sites. Infection and small firm nodules are less common. People taking anticoagulants, people with bleeding or platelet disorders and anyone with an active genital infection may need to delay or avoid treatment.
