Minimizing Pain and Discomfort During Cosmetic Injectable Treatments

Table Of Contents

Injectable cosmetic procedures are the game changers in the aesthetic world. Being minimally invasive with awesome results, injectable processes like botox or filler have been most popular among beauty enthusiasts. However, these injectables also put a tough test on patience and tolerance as they involve needles as the main tool that goes inside the skin.

The fear of needles is a common problem of many and the discomfort it brings sometimes becomes unbearable. Although the side effects of injecting a needle inside the body will happen in the form of mild redness, we can reduce the discomfort and excruciating pain to a certain extent.

Let’s learn in this article how these side effects can be minimized in the case of injectable procedures.

How to Minimize Pain and Discomfort

The sight of that tiny needle might set your heart racing. Procedures like botox or filler require needles which might sound scary but there are ways to reduce the pain and discomfort during the procedure, such as:

  1. Icing the Area: One simple yet effective way to numb the nerve is by applying ice cubes to the area. It reduces the discomfort by blunting the nerve sensitivity.
  2. Size of Needle: Using a fine needle reduces pain while injecting. These days, injectable providers are using 32 gauge needles as these are tiny needles. It feels like a gentle pinch while they enter the body
  3. Vibrating Device: This vibrating device helps to trick the pain nerve and you do not feel any pain while needles are being injected into the skin.
  4. Topical Anesthesia: By numbing the treatment area with lidocaine and tetracaine creams, the pain. This is non-invasive which is ideal for patients who fear needles.
  5. Laughing Gas: This is a new addition to manage pain during the procedure. It allows the patient to have a similar feeling after a few glasses of wine but the effect diminishes quickly and you can drive home safely. As it is a new technique, a few med spas use it.

Bottom Line

Injectable procedures are gaining popularity not only because of cosmetic reasons but also for dentistry. It can be used to treat varied conditions but the involvement of needles scars the people away. With techniques like the cooling effects of ice cubes or topical anesthesia, you can reduce the pain and discomfort. But you can’t escape the look of the needle. With the help of very thin and tiny needles, providers can manage the fear of needles as well. If you are someone thinking of going for any of the injectable procedures, it is advisable to ask about the pain management methods during the procedure to have a better experience.
